I had such fun decorating Hudson's room. Years before we ever considered having a baby I knew 2 things: 1)I wanted a little boy named Hudson and 2)I wanted a Monkey themed nursery. By the grace of God, my dreams came true!! I have monkeys all throughout our house so it only made sense to carry that on into Hudson's room.
It took me forever to decide on just the right bedding. I didn't want something too kiddish or cartoonish (sp?). When I saw this on etsy I knew it was the one!
Some of these pictures were taken a while ago because Hudson is napping as I post this. This is the finished room. My mom got me the big painting above his dresser. It is SO me! It was also very important to me to have a twin size bed in his room too because I never know how much I would use it when he's a baby and then he could use it when he got older. Truth is....I mainly just use it as a changing table & to fold clothes right now!
I made the 3 canvases above his crib. I knew exactly what I wanted in my mind so it only made sense for me to make them myself. The yellow plaque says "You are my sunshine". That means a lot to us because Nick's mother sang that to him as a child. She went to Heaven when Nick was just 6 so it's nice to have a piece of her in there with Hudson. I have since had to relocate it because Hudson was able to climb up & take it off the wall.
I just love this dresser, it used to be yellow & we painted it white to match the other furniture. The little rocking chair to the right was mine as a child.
The chair in the corner is where we take Hudson's monthly pictures. I just love his room & think it fits him perfectly. He loves to play in there now!
