Busy Week!

Hudson's Room!

One blog I enjoy to read is Kelly's Korner. I've been reading her blog for some time now. One of the things she does is a "Show Us Your Life" tour. This week it is Kids Rooms & Nurseries. I have always been interested in decorating (especially nurseries) & really enjoy seeing other's rooms. It gives me great ideas. This is the first time I've participated.

I had such fun decorating Hudson's room. Years before we ever considered having a baby I knew 2 things: 1)I wanted a little boy named Hudson and 2)I wanted a Monkey themed nursery. By the grace of God, my dreams came true!! I have monkeys all throughout our house so it only made sense to carry that on into Hudson's room.

It took me forever to decide on just the right bedding. I didn't want something too kiddish or cartoonish (sp?). When I saw this on etsy I knew it was the one!

Some of these pictures were taken a while ago because Hudson is napping as I post this. This is the finished room. My mom got me the big painting above his dresser. It is SO me! It was also very important to me to have a twin size bed in his room too because I never know how much I would use it when he's a baby and then he could use it when he got older. Truth is....I mainly just use it as a changing table & to fold clothes right now!

I made the 3 canvases above his crib. I knew exactly what I wanted in my mind so it only made sense for me to make them myself. The yellow plaque says "You are my sunshine". That means a lot to us because Nick's mother sang that to him as a child. She went to Heaven when Nick was just 6 so it's nice to have a piece of her in there with Hudson. I have since had to relocate it because Hudson was able to climb up & take it off the wall.

I just love this dresser, it used to be yellow & we painted it white to match the other furniture. The little rocking chair to the right was mine as a child.
The chair in the corner is where we take Hudson's monthly pictures. I just love his room & think it fits him perfectly. He loves to play in there now!

Below are some pictures of Hudson just enjoying his room!

A Day in the Life...

We start out the day looking out the window...
(notice no pants- he has learned to take them off)
It makes me happy to see him so happy :)
Hair is all over the place!Take the time to politely pose for a picture...
Taking his new ride for a spin!
We circled our driveway about 50 times
He always has to prop his foot up
I say: "No No Hudson, don't mess with the scrapbooks!"
He hears: "Go ahead and pull those scrapbooks down & feel free to try to tear out the pages while you're at it"
He can "High Five" with Daddy now!
Sitting in his big boy chair!
PJ's....check!
Bottle....check!
Now it's time to snuggle with Daddy!

I love spending the day with my little man!! He is such a JOY!

Day at the Park!

Thursday was a beautiful day! I was off work & Nick got home early so we decided to take Hudson to the park for the first time. He had a blast. He loved the swing so much. He played so hard that he passed out as soon as we got home. Such a fun day :)

9 Months

Our little Hud-bud turned 9 months old this week. HARD to believe. I remember getting a few outfits at my baby shower that were size 9 months & thinking that it would be forever before he could wear them. Boy was I wrong! Of course, we had to take our monthly elephant picture. These just get harder & harder to take. Last month he wanted to eat the elephant & this month he kept trying to stand up in the chair. Who knows what he will be doing in November.

Dear Hudson Tom,

Here are your 9 month stats:
  • You weigh 22 lbs!
  • You are 29 inches long!
  • After looking at several websites, it appears that you are somewhere around the 70th percentile for both weight & height. Good growing boy!!
  • You wear 6/9 month & 9 month clothes. We are having trouble finding you pants these days because the 9 month are too short & the 12 month are too big
  • You wear size 3 diapers
  • You are still enjoying Yellowjacket football games. You watch the game ever so closely!
  • You attended your first (of many) Yellowjacket Homecomings. Your mommy was certainly proud to be your date :)
  • You are a climber. We catch you climbing on just about anything you can, like: the pack n play, chairs, tables & the couch. You are like a little monkey.
  • Changing your diaper has become a challenge. I feel like I've been wrestling cattle by the time I get you changed!
  • You LOVE music. Anytime you hear music you just dance & dance. It is the cutest thing!
  • You are such a ham. Whenever you see someone with a camera you just light up & grin ear to ear. It's probably because you've spent half your life in front of my camera.
  • You think you are such a big boy & get very frustrated when you can't do "big boy" things
  • You don't like to hear "No", most of the time you just pretend you don't even hear us saying anything to you!
  • On September 14th you made me SO proud & said "Mama". I was so excited to hear you say it. Now you say "Mama" "Bye Bye" & sometimes "Dada". We all love to hear your precious little voice.
  • On September 18th you started standing up all by yourself.
  • You like to cruise all around the room holding on to furniture. You are trying so hard to walk!
  • You are developing quite the attitude. As long as things are going your way, we are good to go. We think you are going to be very vocal when it comes to your opinions!
  • You are teething again. Not fun! You have 1 tooth on top coming in & several more that will be coming in soon.
  • Daddy & I love you more & more each day. You are such a blessing to us both!

LOVE you to pieces,

Mommy

Our little Razorback

Happy Fall Y'all
